Kim Herman Books

Christian Fiction

Welcome! I'm so glad you stopped by. I have a passion for helping women and men of all ages to see how God has, and is, working in their lives.  It is easy to get caught up in the chaos and busyness of our daily routine that we forget that we are not in this alone.  The LORD is ever present and working on our behalf.  He prompted me to write this book and directed the story.  It is my hope that through my stories women can discover and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and examine their kingdom work.

Book Description

When pushed to examine your purpose, have you had the courage to take a close look or have you simply swept the nagging feeling of an unfulfilled purpose under the rug in hopes that it will go away?

After receiving an invitation to join AARP, Anne Williams begins to face the reality of aging and starts to wonder if she has done anything of significance to advance the kingdom of God.  Anne and her friend Karen journey through their past to discover how God has worked in and through their lives. In the midst of their search, Anne's family faces an unexpected crisis.  Will her faith and the faith of her family withstand this trial?

Anne’s story reveals how families and friends cope with new seasons in their lives, identify their purpose, and begin the process of forgiveness, through their relationship with Jesus Christ.

I’m excited to share A Daughter of the Most High King with you.  I hope you enjoy the journey.

About Me

I was raised on a sheep farm in Southern Wisconsin with my 4 younger sisters.  Our parents taught us the importance of family, hard work, personal responsibility, and a good sense of humor.

The Lord has blessed me with an amazing husband, Ken, who is also my best friend, and number one fan.  We have 3 adult children, Michelle, Michael, and Joshua.  Being a grandma is a joy!  Allison, Brianna, Jedta, Molly, Brody, Kylie and Kenna call me ‘Grandma Kim’.

Helping people has always been important to me.  I started my career working in the healthcare field and loved it.  Eventually I realized that in order to advance my career I would need to go back to school.

I entered college as a ‘non-traditional’ student.  I worked full time, attended college part-time, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work.  Within 2 years of graduation I enrolled in an accelerated Master’s degree program and graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work.

After leaving a 30 plus year career in the field of substance abuse and mental health, and a few of years of retirement, I felt called by the Lord to write a book.

The process of writing this book was different from any other writing projects I have completed.  I tried to write a book using the traditional methods I learned in college.  That was an exercise in frustration.  The strong sense of urging to write a book never left me.  My good friend, and sister in Christ, gently reminded me of the call I was given and the importance of obeying.  Eventually, I prayed to God and told Him I would sit down at the computer every day and write whatever He put on my heart.  I promised to write everyday whether it was for 5 minutes or 5 hours.  The words came pouring out and onto the computer.  I was amazed at the twists and turns of the story and the multiple layers of life lessons that were revealed.

I hope you enjoy A Daughter of the Most High King.  The process of writing this book has been life changing.

Please feel free to contact me, I’d love to hear from you.

My writing friend, Jovie
